Annual Fund

Support our core programs, grants, and community initiatives that strengthen learning and connection across Georgia. A donation to the annual fund helps us respond quickly to urgent needs and direct your gift where it will have the greatest impact.

How to Give:

  • OnlineDonate now with your credit or debit card
  • By Mail – Send checks payable to “Georgia Humanities” to: Georgia Humanities, 50 Hurt Plaza SE, Suite 650, Atlanta, GA 30303
  • Monthly Giving – Set up automatic donations for steady support. Choose your amount and frequency—you can change or cancel anytime.
Gifts of Stock

Donate appreciated stocks or securities and potentially avoid capital gains tax while deducting the full market value.

Contact us to notify your intent, and we’ll provide transfer instructions to our brokerage account.

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

For individuals age 70½ or older, you can donate directly from your IRA to avoid income tax on up to $100,000 annually.

Request the QCD form from your IRA custodian and specify Georgia Humanities as the recipient.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)

Direct a grant from your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) to support our work. Contact your DAF provider to find out how to make a grant to Georgia Humanities from your fund.

  • Smithsonian Museum on Main Street: Help bring Smithsonian-quality exhibitions to small towns and rural communities in Georgia. Since 1994, Museum on Main Street has reached over 1,900 communities nationwide with world-class exhibitions, educational programming, and local capacity building. By sponsoring MoMS in Georgia, you help bring powerful experiences to communities across the state. Your support covers logistics, installation, training, and community engagement that connects people to their local stories.
  • National History Day Georgia: Power Georgia’s premier student research competition by underwriting our signature state competition at LaGrange College. Each year, National History Day Georgia empowers thousands of students to develop critical‐thinking skills and share their original work with peers and judges. By sponsoring NHD Georgia, you will connect your brand with motivated students, educators, and families from across the state.
  • America250:Support the statewide commemoration of our nation’s 250th anniversary through our speakers series, community grant awards, statewide book club, and K-12 resources that bring Georgia’s stories into every corner of the state. Your sponsorship of America250 will fuel local events—from community conversations to heritage projects—while highlighting Georgia’s unique role in America’s history.
The Laura T. McCarty National History Day Fund

The Laura T. McCarty National History Day Fund supports Georgia students as they explore history, share their ideas, and experience the enduring power of discovery. Your gift will support the NHD Georgia state competition in LaGrange, fund scholarships for exceptional students to attend the National Contest in Maryland, and provide workshops and classroom resources for students and teachers throughout the school year.

Crowdfunding and Peer-to-Peer Fundraising

Volunteer
