The Vietnam War preview screening and panel discussion

gpbThe Vietnam War, an immersive ten-part, 18 hour documentary film series directed by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick and funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, tells the epic story of one of the most consequential, divisive, and misunderstood events in American history. The series features testimony of nearly 100 eyewitnesses, including “ordinary” Americans who fought in the conflict and those who fought against it, and “ordinary” Vietnamese soldiers and civilians from the North and the South. In recalling for the camera what they saw and felt and did half a century ago, these men and women reveal the human dimensions of the searing tragedy that tore America apart, unified Vietnam under communist rule, and cost the lives of 58,000 Americans and as many as three million Vietnamese.

Join Georgia Public Broadcasting for a preview of selected footage from the series and a panel discussion moderated by Col. (R) Carlton Savory and Col. (R) Ralph Puckett.
