Southern Writers Onstage: Women Black and White series
This series of readings/performances tells the story of the Southern American woman – black and white – through the writings of Southern American women. Atlanta actress Carolyn Cook presents Flannery O’Connor‘s short story “Everything That Rises Must Converge,” about two generations of white southerners, a mother and son, who have different views of the past, present, and future of racial exceptionalism. Southern Writers Onstage was developed by Dr. Pearl McHaney of Georgia State University.
This event is supported by a grant from Georgia Humanities.
