Sewell Mill Museum Ribbon Cutting: A Celebration of the Textile Mill Heritage of West Georgia
The Sewell Mill Historical Museum will officially open on December 14, in advance of the 2018 centennial of the Sewell Mill, which produced the first tailored garment made in the South. The museum is one of several official stopping sites of Georgia’s Textile Heritage Trail, which runs from Dalton, Georgia, down the Highway 27 corridor, and ends in Columbus, Georgia.
The West Georgia Textile Heritage Trail is a heritage tourism initiative managed by the Center for Public History at the University of West Georgia.
