SUMMARY:LaGrange Screening of "Saving the Chattahoochee"
DESCRIPTION:During the 1990s\, the Chattahoochee River was named the most endangered urban river in North America by American Rivers\, a key conservation group. “Saving the Chattahoochee\,” a new documentary by filmmaker Hal Jacobs\, tells the story of the dedicated Atlanta women who fought to revive and protect the Chattahoochee River and its watershed. \nThis special screening of “Saving the Chattahoochee” will take place near LaGrange\, Ga.\, at the Oakfuskee Conservation Center. Along with the screening of the film\, guests will have the opportunity to visit Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s new regional outreach office and indoor classroom that overlooks West Point Lake. \nFollowing the film will be a Q&A with Sally Bethea\, producer/director Hal Jacobs\, CRK deputy director Henry Jacobs and CRK technical programs specialist Ashley Desensi. \n“Saving the Chattahoochee” is sponsored by Georgia Humanities.
