DESCRIPTION:Join the Atlanta Department of City Planning for an engaging evening with award-winning author\, preservationist\, and cultural developer Gene Kansas as he discusses his acclaimed book\, Civil Sights: Sweet Auburn\, a Journey Through Atlanta’s National Treasure. Kansas will be interviewed by Brennen Collins\, Associate Director and Academic Professional at Georgia State University. Following the talk\, enjoy a brief\, guided tour highlighting key historical landmarks within Sweet Auburn\, bringing the narratives from “Civil Sights” to life. \nThis program is supported by a grant from Georgia Humanities.
