SUMMARY:"More than a Name: Commemorating Bulloch's African American Fallen Soldiers of WWI" Exhibit Opening
DESCRIPTION:Approximately 370\,000 African Americans served in the First World War\, including thousands of Georgians. In Bulloch County\, dozens of African American men volunteered for or were drafted into service\, and 13 of those men died while in uniform. This project aims to grant Bulloch County’s fallen African Americans the place they deserve in the community’s collective memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the First World War. The exhibit soft opens on this day with an accompanying lecture taking place on April 1\, 2025. \nThis program is supported by a grant from Georgia Humanities.

SUMMARY:NHD Georgia "Essentials" Mini Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The NHD Georgia “Essentials” workshop focuses on introducing (or refreshing) the fundamental elements of National History Day\, including structure\, components\, and classroom adaptability. The workshop will cover the 25-26 National History Day theme\, research tools and analysis\, and category/project completion. \nDuring this online workshop\, time will also be dedicated to the creation of tools teachers can use in their classroom to help their students with what is often the most difficult step in a history day project: getting started. The goal is for teachers to leave the workshop comfortable with the program\, its components\, and the theme\, and ready to discuss it with their students.
