DESCRIPTION:World Heritage and U.S. Civil Rights Sites Symposium \nThe Georgia State University World Heritage Initiative is preparing a nomination of U.S. civil rights sites for the World Heritage List in an effort to achieve the highest possible level of global recognition possible for these historic places. \nJoin civil rights scholars and preservationists from around the country for a symposium focusing on the World Heritage program\, the nomination process\, the global significance of the U.S. civil rights movement\, and what might be expected of property owners and stakeholders of historic sites should the properties receive World Heritage designation. \nThe symposium is free and open to the public. \nThis is a community event.
