Humanities Goes to Washington
Humanities on the Hill is an event sponsored by the Federation of State Humanities Councils at which representatives from 56 state councils meet with congressional members and staff to inform them about the work being done to improve the quality of life and education in their districts.
Five representatives from the Georgia Humanities Council (three volunteer board members and two staff members) will head to Washington on March 6 to meet with colleagues, share information, and thank Georgia’s congressional delegation for their support. The Georgia Humanities Council is funded in part through an appropriation to the National Endowment for the Humanities.
“There’s never been a more important time to let Congress know how much we appreciate their support and to show them how these funds are being used on the ground in their communities.”
Jamil Zainaldin, President, Georgia Humanities Council
