We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution

We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution is a program of the national Center for Civic Education. The Georgia Humanities Council is the coordinating agency for this program for those who wish to participate in the state of Georgia.

Congratulations to Lakeside High School (of DeKalb County) for taking first place overall at the "We the People: the Citizen and the Constitution" finals on Friday, December 11, 2009.Lakeside will represent Georgia at the national finals, sponsored by the Center for Civic Education, in Washington DC, April 24-26, 2010.

The teacher is Richard Barbe, and class members include: Alan Bexley, Michael Coralli, Edward Culton, Chris Day, Brian Ferri, Sarah Gilkerson, Katherine Jennings, Abaho Katabarwa, Dwight Lindquist, Alex Lotito, Mystical McDaniel, Liz Parr, Courtney Parsons, Kevin Sauler, Sarah Schroth, Farina Shafqat, Joe Sharp, Michael Sorenson, Wesley Williams, Jesse Wofford, and Hal Zhao.

Congratulations, also, to the teams from Chamblee Charter HS and Davidson Fine Arts HS who competed. Chamblee's teacher is Stephen Rubino, and Davidson's teacher is Amy Hennessy.
