Call for Applications: Georgia Poet Laureate

This is an honorary, highly-respected position that is appointed by the Governor from a list of three nominations made by the Arts Council. The selected candidate will serve for a period of time concurrent with the governor’s term of office or until a successor is named.

Applications are invited from published poets who meet eligibility requirements that include:

• five consecutive years as a Georgia resident
  
• availability to travel for readings and appearances
  
• recognition and publication as a poet
